Individuals who are currently enrolled in and expect to complete the courses and other requirements for obtaining a baccalaureate degree at the end of the semester in which admission to the program is sought, may be conditionally admitted and begin program training.

For Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources 6-12 certification, at least 12 semester hours of agricultural-related coursework is recommended.

The cumulative GPA must be at least 2.5 and the 12 hours of specific coursework must be a 2.5.

TExES content pedagogy certification exam #272 Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources 6-12 and TExES PPR (Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities) exam approval will be given after program acceptance and completion of prerequisites. Passing scores on the TExES exams are required for certification.

For Core Subjects 4-8 with ESL certification, at least 12 semester hours: 3 semester hours English, mathematics, science, and social studies is recommended.

TExES content pedagogy certification exam #211 Core Subject 4-8, #154 English as a Second Language (ESL), #293 Science of Teaching Reading and TExES PPR (Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities) exam approval will be given after program acceptance and completion of prerequisites. Passing scores on the TExES exams are required for certification. In order to earn an Overall Status of Passed, each Subject Test must be passed by earning a Scaled Score of 240 or higher. For Core Subjects EC-6 with Bilingual Supplemental certification, at least 12 semester hours: 3 semester hours English, mathematics, science, and social studies is recommended.

TExES content pedagogy certification exam #391 Core Subjects EC-6, #164 Bilingual Supplemental, #190 BTLPT (Bilingual Target Language Proficiency, #293 Science of Teaching Reading and TExES PPR (Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities) exam approval will be given after program acceptance and completion of prerequisites. Passing scores on the TExES exams are required for certification. In order to earn an Overall Status of Passed, each Subject Test must be passed by earning a Scaled Score of 240 or higher. Note: The tests below must be passed before a probationary certificate can be issued for acceptance of a teaching position.
- The #190 Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT) is required after program acceptance and must be taken during the first testing opportunity.
- The #164 Bilingual Education Supplemental test will be taken after program acceptance and coursework.
For Clinical Teaching Experience (CTE) participants: the tests above must be passed before the completion of the practicum.

For Family and Consumer Sciences 6-12 certification, at least 12 semester hours in family studies, human services, human development, nutrition, food sciences, hospitality, consumer and resource management, textiles, apparel, and environmental design coursework is recommended.

The cumulative GPA must be at least 2.5 and the 12 hours of specific coursework must be a 2.5.

If required, submit your TX PACT #721 Family and Consumer Sciences 6-12 score report to certification@region10.org.

AAFCS #200 Family and Consumer Sciences 6-12 and TExES PPR (Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities) exam approval will be given after program acceptance and completion of prerequisites. Passing scores on the AAFCS and TExES exams are required for certification.

For Health Science 6-12 certification, at least 12 semester hours in health science coursework is recommended.

The cumulative GPA must be at least 2.5 and the 12 hours of specific coursework must be a 2.5. An Associate's degree or higher is required.

If required, submit your TX PACT #721 Health Science score report to certification@region10.org.

Additional requirements are:
1. Current licensure, certification, or registration by a nationally recognized accrediting agency as a health professions practitioner based on a program requiring at least two years of formal education.
2. At least two years, full- time, wage-earning experience utilizing the licensure requirement.
3. Submission of the Texas Education Agency Statement of Qualifications for Secondary Career and Technical Certification to Region 10 CERTification. Original must be submitted.
TExES content pedagogy certification exam #273 Health Science 6-12 and TExES PPR (Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities) exam approval will be given after program acceptance and completion of prerequisites. Passing scores on the TExES exams are required for certification.

The cumulative and history GPA must be at least 2.5 and the 12 hours of specific coursework must be a 2.5.

For Hospitality, Nutrition, Food Science 8-12 certification, at least 12 semester hours food sciences, nutrition, lodging, and hospitality coursework is recommended.

AAFCS #201 Hospitality, Nutrition, Food Science 8-12 and the TExES PPR (Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities) exam approval will be given after program acceptance and completion of prerequisites. Passing scores on the AAFCS #201 Hospitality, Nutrition, Food Science and TExES exams are required for certification.

For Journalism 7-12 certification, at least 12 semester hours in journalism coursework is recommended.

Languages Other Than English certifications are: Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Latin, and Spanish.

For Languages Other Than English EC-12 certification, at least 12 semester hours in the target language coursework is required.

- Mandarin Chinese EC-12

The ACTFL oral and written tests are administered at the Region 10 CERTification Program office.
