Overview
Vision
Empowering New Teachers - Changing the Face of Education
Mission
Provide a canopy of support while empowering, challenging, and inspiring new teachers for student success.
Goals
Our program is designed to equip new teachers with academic and behavioral strategies for achievement of all students through a viable mentor program that supports new teachers’ professional growth and promotes leadership of new teachers on the campus and in the community.
Region 10 Empowering New Teachers Mentor and Induction Program serves to meet the needs of new teachers, mentor teachers, and the administrators and other staff who serve and work with the new teachers.
It is our goal to maintain the level of expectation set for by House Bill (HB) 3 which was passed by the 86th Texas Legislature, 2019, and signed into law by Governor Abbott on June 11, 2019. The following areas within HB 3 specifically relate to new teacher mentoring and are explicitly followed by the Region10 Empowering New Teacher Mentor and Induction Program:
-
Texas Education Code (TEC) §48.114, Mentor Program Allotment
-
Texas Education Code (TEC), §21.458, Mentors
-
Proposed New 19 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §153.1011, Mentor Program Allotment
We believe effective teachers have high expectations, are effective classroom managers, and teach for mastery for all students.
