National Association of School Psychologists (NASP)

The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) is a professional association representing more than 25,000 school psychologists, graduate students, and related professionals throughout the United States and an additional 25 countries worldwide. As the world's largest organization of school psychologists, NASP works to advance effective practices to improve students' learning, behavior, and mental health.

The NASP website is full of a wide variety of free resources. In addition, members get access to additional resources, like discounts on books and webinars, the monthly Communique newsletter, and the School Psychology Review (SPR) journal.

Texas Association of School Psychologists (TASP)

The Texas Association of School Psychologists (TASP) is a state affiliate of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).

TASP provides support and resources to Texas LSSPs as well as hosting 2 annual conferences: A Fall Convention and a Summer Institute.

Texas Behavioral Executive Health Council (BHEC)

The Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (“Council”) was created by the 86th Legislature in 2019 following consecutive reviews of its member boards by the Sunset Advisory Commission. The Council consists of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists, Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists, and the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners.

The Council is designed to play a central role in the regulation of behavioral health services and social work practice in Texas and is guided by the seasoned wisdom of its member boards in abiding by its mission and philosophy.

The Council is responsible for maintaining references to the Statute and Rules governing the practice of psychology in the state of Texas.


Human Trafficking-Texas HHSC

House Bill 2059, 86th Legislature, Regular Session, 2019, requires the Texas Health and Human Services to approve training courses on human trafficking, including at least one that is free of charge, post the list of approved trainings on the HHS website, and update the list of approved trainings as necessary.

Human Trafficking training is a required course for all LSSPs applying for or renewing a license, per (86)HB 2059. A list of courses available to meet this requirement can be found here.
